Miralee and Grammieby Miralee Ferrell

Almost four years ago I lost my precious grandmother, Maude Isabelle Gibbs, a month before her 99th birthday. Grammie loved babies and children more than almost anything, but she didn’t live long enough to know her great-great granddaughter would be born 2 ½ years after she left us. We were so blessed when our son and his wife chose to give little Kate the middle name of Isabelle…after not only our son’s great-grandmother who he’d known and loved for 30 years, but also after his wife’s grandmother, who had the same name. When I learned what they were doing, I decided to honor my grandmother as well, by naming one of my important, sweet secondary characters after her in the book I was writing, Wishing on Buttercups. It’s the second book in my Love Blossoms in Oregon series.

Steven&KateI’m so thrilled that God gives us creative ways to continue the circle of life—through new births, new books, and loving memories. Above is a picture of me with Grammie  taken 2-3 years prior to her passing, and here is one of little Kate and her daddy. She’s the new love of our lives and turns one year in April.
