Learning Your ABCs
by Cheri Cowell
August is back to school month, and it is a good time for Christians to also consider our back to school basics. Here are the ABCs all of us should brush up on this time of year.
A is for Adoration. During the summer months, many of us get out of the worship habit with vacations, visiting family, and just the lazy days of summer. Now is the time to get back into the swing of things–recommit to attending worship, put on some praise music, and show God the devotion He deserves.
C is for Caring. Look around for that one person who could use a friend, would love a card or a call, or could use a ride to church. There are so many opportunities to show God’s love to others–stock up on cards or little gifts at your local bookstore. There are so many ways to show you care, but we must be prepared. Then we can act when the Lord opens a door or gives us that nudge.
So, whether you are 9 or 90, all of us can go back to school and brush up on our A (Adoration), B (Bible Study), and C (Caring) skills. God has gold stars ready for all of us.
