Synopsis

Harry Potter is faced with the unreliability of the very government of the magical world and the impotence of the authorities at Hogwarts. Despite this (or perhaps because of it), he finds depth and strength in his friends, beyond what even he knew; boundless loyalty; and unbearable sacrifice.

Dove Review

A war for control of the school takes place in this latest Potter film. A former foe believed to be vanquished returns for more spiritual battles and supremacy. Harry Potter finds himself in the midst of this fight. The special effects are excellent and it was nice to see a traditional holiday like Christmas recognized as several characters wished each other a "Happy Christmas" in the story.

However, as with previous installments of this series, Dove cannot approve the film for family viewing due to the use of witchcraft and sorcery, which is quite frequent in the movie. There are several uses of wands and some of the characters fly on broomsticks. One character is momentarily possessed. We believe this movie could be potentially dangerous for our Dove viewers and therefore cannot award our Seal to this film.
