The Day I Met Jesus
by Frank Viola & Mary DeMuth
The Day I Met Jesus gives flesh and blood to the paper and ink accounts of five women of desperation in the gospels who had a life-changing encounter with Jesus. Authors Frank Viola and Mary DeMuth take creative liberties to tell the stories of the woman caught in adultery, the Samaritan woman at the well, a prostitute, the woman with a flow of blood and the woman whom Jesus loved. At the end of each narrative is a section called “Walking Out,” which elaborates on key points in each account and explains how each woman’s situation can easily relate to one in the reader’s own life. An additional section in the back of the book is a useful tool for small group studies.
How this brings more to life: Discover women who struggled with the regrets of their pasts and the stresses of their presents and then found the hope for their futures the day they met Jesus.
