A Penny for Your Thoughts
“Who needs New Year’s resolutions,” my friend said, “when we’re struggling to find solutions for the junk that last year brought?”
Have you heard this sentiment lately? Many are frustrated. Some lost their passion. Others gave up before finishing the race. And yet others smile big as if they had a secret only few know.
And what do they know? They know how to master a key element. It’s the component that holds the power either to defeat us or bring us victory. Either they can drown us in fear or drive us to the highest heights.
They’re called our thoughts and they have a unique power. That’s why the apostle Paul, who knew we Americans are like the Philippians, would need a nudge to change. We need a reminder to transform our thinking and choose those thoughts wisely.
“Finally,” he said, “brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
Our thoughts are the first step to determine our journey, reach our goals, bring reality to our dreams and bring victory to each moment.
