Just Live Today
by Linda Kuhar
After prayer brought Linda Kuhar back from the brink of death, she was in demand as a speaker for Bible study groups and other Christian organizations. There was one problem—deep down, Linda didn’t believe she recovered because God miraculously healed her . . . she did not believe she was worthy.
Over the years of physical and spiritual healing, Linda discovered her true worth in Jesus. Linda learned how to use this acronym as a simple reminder of how to live in the truth about her worth and relationship with God.
- Just live today.
- Expect miracles.
- Speak truth.
- Use your gifts.
- Start now!
In Worthy of a Miracle Chapter 13, Just live today, Linda digs deeper into the reality cancer brought to her life.
When I was diagnosed with cancer and was afraid I was going to die, I wanted my time back. I wanted to undo the days I’d let slip through my hands . . . the slow and sweet moments with my husband, and the simple and silly moments with my daughter. I would sit on my front porch swing with the sinking feeling (the new reality!) that I only had that very hour, that very day. I could not go backward, and I was not guaranteed a future. I just had “today.”
Looking back, I am finally aware of what a tremendous gift it was to recognize that all I had was that single moment.
If it were not for receiving the miracle of physical and spiritual healing, I would not get to experience the holiness of my everyday life. The beauty in the simple things of life would go unnoticed. I’m still learning that life is a precious gift and I must handle it with care. I’m becoming more grateful for the simple moments.
How do you and I let go of trying to manipulate our lives and start fully embracing what’s right in front of us? How do we abandon the fear of failure and past regrets? How do we temper our anticipation of the future? How do we stay connected to the present moment?
There’s only one place I know to turn to, and that is to the truth: Jesus.
It starts with just living today.
