Is there anything better than sweet words from a grandchild? I snuggled beside my granddaughter on the couch.

“I remember how we’d go outside,” she said, “and pretended we were in another country.”

As she related the experience years ago, I marveled at the details she retained. But not me, I’d forgotten most of it.

Have you done that? Most of us have. We find it hard to remember details of pleasant scenarios.

Simply SalsaHowever, when it comes to negative experiences. We’re quick to recall past hurts, mistakes made and wounds that still burn.

But freedom comes, new paths show up and surprises appear when we: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18
