Hope for This Generation?
If you look at the world surrounding today’s teens, you might wonder.
Two weeks ago, I got a call that my son’s high school was on lock down. My blood froze in my veins. Before the recorded message could explain, I went to God. Even though our flesh may be screaming, we can always quiet our racing thoughts, dig into the well of faith within and hear God’s voice. I had assurance my son was safe and everything would be okay. But, it took determination to not allow my mind to freak out like it wanted to. There is more threat to this generation than possibly any in history. But God assures us where sin abounds, grace abounds. He’s never lost a generation, and He won’t lose this one. In fact, in the days ahead, I expect to see young people rising up in countless numbers to declare God’s mercy.
In my Halfling books, teenager Nikki is thrown into a world of angels and demons—a world she never knew existed. She must conquer her doubt and fear and become the warrior God created her to be. How many warriors are there roaming around right now in baggy jeans and shaggy haircuts? More than we can count. I guarantee it. There’s hope for this generation. In fact, maybe this generation is the hope.
