Operation Gratitude

TIP_EmployeeGuideposts has partnered with Operation Gratitude by sending 10,000 copies of Guideposts magazine each month and personally signed greeting cards to be included in care packages that are sent directly to members of the U.S. Military serving overseas.

Operation Gratitude was founded by Carolyn Blashek in 2003 after meeting a soldier.  Here is her story:

“In March 2003, I met a soldier returning to the War Zone.  He had been on Emergency Leave to bury his mother, his wife had left him and his only child had died as an infant.  He had no one in his life.  He said, “I’m going back over there; I don’t think I’ll make it back this time, but it doesn’t matter because no one would even care”.”

Operation Gratitude was born that night and is now a non-profit organization with a mission to lift morale in the Military Community by sending care packages addressed to individuals in the U.S. Military, their children left behind, Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors and their Care Givers.

Operation Gratitude’s mantra this year is March to 1 Million as they hope to deliver their 1 millionth care package in March 2013.  And we can feel good knowing that Guideposts magazine will be in that package.

If you personally know a deployed service member and would like to send an Operation Gratitude care package to them, please submit a Request Package form on their website: Request Package
