Valentine’s Day. It is one of the biggest days of the year for the sale of cards, candy, a promise or engagement ring. All forms of media will be promoting the day. There are the Valentine’s parties for the elementary school age children, encouraging the exchange of valentines for every student in the class, and one for the teacher too.

It is supposed to be a happy day for everyone. However, it has also become one of the hardest days of the year for millions of women who are still single, now divorced or widowed today. This day reminds them of their lack of marital status, the failure of a marriage or their loss of one who loved them.

raisingmodernWith that in mind, consider what can you do this Valentine’s Day to become a blessing to a woman you know who could really use a card and a bit of candy to remind her that she is loved.

Or, if you are in any of the above categories, I’m here to say right now, “Happy Valentine’s Day!” Let’s celebrate together the Lover of our Soul—Jesus. We have a Heavenly Father who is for us! So who can be against us?  He loves us with an everlasting love. He is our God of all comfort. He will wipe away every tear. We are more than conquerors. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  Those are just a few of the greatest empowering, loving, encouraging words we receive, not just on Valentine’s Day but every day, just by taking time to read His love letter to us, the Bible.

I close today encouraging you to send out some valentines cards instead of hoping or expecting one this year. Igniting hope for someone else will warm her heart…and yours!
