Sharing the Blessings
by Cheri Cowell
Last year God stopped me dead in my tracks. You see, I’m a doer. I’m the one people turn to when they want something to happen. Earlier in the year, God made it clear I was supposed to turn some of my responsibilities over to others. I agreed I had too much on my plate, but I struggled with how to make the transition.
Months passed, and in October while attending a conference where I was teaching, I skipped out on the general session and went for a walk. I began thanking God for my blessings and the work I was blessed to do, and then it happened. In my spirit I heard the Lord say, “Stop hoarding the blessings.” You know it is the Lord when what is said is not something you would say to yourself.
Well, God got my attention. Within days I’d handed over the things He’d told me almost nine months earlier that I was supposed to let go of. My life is more balanced, and others are blessed as I was in the ministries I was leading.
So, my new question to all of my doer sister and brothers is, “What blessings are you hoarding?”
