Spring is Around the Corner!!
I was shocked when I realized that daylight savings time had arrived, and we gained an hour in the evening as well as ushering in spring a few weeks from now. There’s nothing like the prospect of new flowers, buds on the trees, and the sun shining through the clouds to cheer my spirits. It’s snowing as I type this on the first day of March, but I can already envision the blossoms in my flower beds…and of course, I have my photos from last summer to help me remember.
A week or so ago, we were experiencing 40 degree weather, and I found three of my rose bushes covered with tiny new leaf shoots. Way too early, but thankfully they’re up against the house and protected from extreme cold. I’m itching to get my fingers in the soil, cut back the dead stalks in the raspberry beds, prune the roses, and plant seeds in my garden. Only a few more weeks to go! Here are a few pictures from my gardens—I hope they will stir your anticipation for the season as they do for me.
