The Big Picture

I  had promised myself 2017 wasn’t going to be another year of calendar frenzy. So, I bought a new calendar 15” x 24” that allows me to use a sticky note (attached to the side of the calendar) to post on the days I have something planned. If there should be a change, instead of erasing or using white out, I use another sticky note, or not.

This was put into action recently when I received a call to reschedule an appointment. I loved just pulling off the sticky note and placing it on the new date. No scratch outs, erasing or other unruly alternatives. I know it is old school. So, please note that I use my phone calendar too. However, there’s something about a big calendar on my desk that makes me feel like I’ve got the big picture and a sense of where my day, week or month, ok, my life in general, is going.

raisingmodernHowever, in those moments of brief satisfaction, it isn’t long before a much bigger calendar comes to mind . . . like all the plan of events that have transpired with our incoming President or the transition of a new pastor in our church. Then, Jeremiah 29:11 comes to mind as I put my plans, our church and our country into His hands, feeling assured by our all-knowing and loving God who proclaims, “I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for evil, to give you hope and a future.”  Praying you feel His reassurance today as you view your life’s calendar.

Always good to be reminded that God directs and sometimes changes our course. We only have the present and the future and confidence in His plans gives us that reassurance to trust Him.

Stepping up to take control of the frenzied life so it doesn’t continue to take control of you . . . .good encouragement and good example for all of us in today’s world. You shared a scripture with a very deep meaning we can only glean by spending time Him. Looking at life from our Point Of View can be intimidating, overwhelming and sometimes paralyzing. However, looking at our life from His POV, He has plans to break us free and show us He has even bigger plans for greater Goodness. I received much! Thanks for sharing!

Knowing GOD has His capable Hands on my day is the only truly consistent thing about my days, lately! Thanks for reminding me to get more organized, therefore more focused, on the many things I need to be accomplishing for Him! I have a new co-worker, old friend from 45 years ago, Patty, who needs our prayers to whip a wicked addiction. Pray!!
