The Most Exotic Country

My latest novel, Shadow of the Dagger, is set in Turkey, known during biblical times as Asia Minor. I spent five months on the Incirlik Air Base in Adana, Turkey and traveled from one end of that enchanting land to the other.

Turkey is near the cradle of civilization and the site of Mount Ararat where historians believe Noah’s ark landed after the Great Flood.

I visited the city of Istanbul, earlier known as Constantinople. You recall Constantine was a champion of the Christians and halted their early persecution.

Some call Turkey the center of the world, where East meets West. I’ve traveled to forty foreign countries, and I call Turkey the most fascinating country.

Many of the places I visited are described and intertwined in the mystery of my novel, Shadow of the Dagger. In my book, you will experience places the Apostle Paul visited. You will fear for Nicole and Josh as they search an ancient Crusader castle for the kidnapped Ian. Chills will creep down your spine as Nicole and Josh attempt to flee the kidnappers through the underground cisterns. You will visit flat-roofed dwellings right out of the Bible. Your car will stop on main highways as flocks of sheep tended by shepherds have the right of way. You will not be able to travel twenty miles without bumping into history.

If you cannot take a trip to Turkey to experience that charming country, your next best choice is to enjoy Shadow of the Dagger. My novel is not a travelogue, but you will think you’ve enjoyed an exciting trip when you finish.

In my novel, Shadow of the Dagger, three people are murdered and one kidnapped to find the solution to a priceless treasure map.

As Nicole Phillips seeks to find her kidnapped brother, she doesn’t know whom to trust. No one is who they appear to be. All is deception.

To bring his brother’s murderer to justice, CIA Intel Analyst, Josh Baruch, lays his life on the line. Can he walk the tightrope between obeying the killers’ instructions and bringing them to justice?

Anne Greene delights in writing about alpha heroes who aren’t afraid to fall on their knees in prayer, and about gutsy heroines.  Anne hopes her books transport the reader to awesome new worlds and touch hearts to seek a deeper spiritual relationship with the Lord Jesus.
