How beautiful, Cynthia! This left me in a puddle of tears…as your writing often does. But good, cleansing tears. I can’t wait to read Song of Silence.

Wow. I felt like I knew this book inside and out. And knew the author. But this article moved me to new depths! Thanks for sharing it.

I love music as much as books, and my daughter is a Music Ed major. I just read Song of Silence over the weekend and already want to read it again! To say I loved it is too trite a comment. So many wonderful quotes about rests and music and how they correlate to life. This book is a symphony for the soul!

Like Deb, this left me crying, too. What a beautiful tribute to your father and your children’s vocal coach. Music touches the soul like nothing else and those who teach this heavenly language inspire us as well. Our church choir director is in ICU and it’s breaking my heart to see her that way.
Thank you for the reminder that those silences are so loud they affect us more than the music.
