What a Mess in My House!

I want to share a real life story—mine! Our tile floors, we found out, had not been installed properly and were beginning to pop up. The only workable process was to remove all the tile and put in a new floor. But removing tile means lots of drilling and . . . dust!

My house was in a mess!

To remove floors, you have to remove what’s on them! So everything we own in the entire downstairs of our home had to be removed and stored in the garage, upstairs, etc. Then after the tile was removed, they had to grind the floor down. Dust? Oh yes!

12StepsAnd then . . . the wood they sent to replace the tile was wrong. So we had to wait for the new wood, let it acclimate to the house and then it had to be sanded—more dust!

Sounds like a first-world problem, I know. But I’m sharing it because no matter how organized we are, “things” happen in our homes and lives. Just think of people who were sitting in their homes and the next minute their homes were gone as when a tornado or flood hits.

So how do we cope when we have to go through a small or large crisis? We stay in prayer, praising God through the circumstance.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
